Welcome to Harmonie L’Union Fraternelle – or L’UF for short!
L’UF is a symphonic wind band featuring woodwinds, brass, percussion, and occasionally a double bass.
We currently have around 140 members, with most musicians coming from Veldhoven and the Eindhoven region. Founded in 1871, L’UF is the oldest established wind band in Veldhoven.
In the Netherlands, amateur wind bands are classified into divisions, and L’UF performs at the 1st division level – the highest possible. But because we believe that making music should be accessible to everyone, regardless of skill level, we offer several ensembles under our umbrella to get you involved.
- Beginner’s Band (Rehearsals: Thursdays, 18:45–19:45)
For musicians who are just starting out. This group gives beginners the chance to experience the joy of playing music together early on in their musical journey. - Learner’s Band (Rehearsals: Thursdays, 18:45–19:45)
For players with approximately three years of experience (A-level). - Symphonic Wind Band (Rehearsals: Thursdays, 20:00–22:15)
For musicians who have reached at least a B-level diploma or equivalent—typically around 4–5 years of playing experience. - Percussion Band (Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 20:30–22:15)
For percussionists with about 4–5 years of playing experience. - Drum Kids (Rehearsals: Wednesday afternoons)
Aimed at children in their first years of percussion lessons who can already read basic percussion notation.
