Orchestras

We write 14 April 1872; the date on which the harmony band gave its very first performance, only a few months after its official establishment. It was on 6 November 1871 that eight men gathered together over a drink to discuss the founding of a harmony band in Zeelst. On 8 November 1871, two days after this notable meeting of the gentlemen, the first set of regulations was signed by 17 members. Over the years, there has been a change in the date regarded as the official founding date. Tradition has made it 7 November 1871. This probably stems from the fact that 7 November is the feast day of Saint Willibrord, patron saint of the former Zeelst parish church. Now, many years later, the association consists of five different orchestras, each with its own level of training. These are:
